Khan Vs Peterson Fight: WCC Will Seat 12,000 Fans

The Dec. 10 fight pitting Amir Khan against Lamar Peterson--the first major boxing match Washington D.C. has hosted in recent memory--is expected to be quite the draw. According to SB Nation's Luke Thomas, the Washington Convention Center will seat 12,000 fans for the fight. Tickets will cost $25.

The stakes are high for both combatants, so the fight ought to offer plenty of drama. Khan risks both his WBA and IBF lightweight championship belts. Peterson, meanwhile, has the opportunity to claim those titles in his hometown.

Khan owns a 26-1 record and has tallied 18 knockouts. Peterson is no slouch himself, as his record stands at 29-1-1 with 15 knockouts.

Though as many as 12,000 people might attend the fight, only two of them are former presidents. Indeed, Khan announced his intention to invite Barack Obama and Bill Clinton to the fight, which would only add to the event's import and appeal.
