Khan vs Peterson Undercard: Mitchell will meet his toughest opponent yet in Ibragimov
When heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell of Brandywine, MD., takes on Timur Ibragimov of Uzbekistan on Dec. 10, he will be facing the most difficult challenge of his career.
The 36-year-old Ibragimov (30-3-1, 16 KOs) is coming off a split-decision loss to former cruiserweight titleholder Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs) in December, which ended his winning streak of nine straight victories, including three stoppages.
Ibragimov's biggest win was perhaps his unanimous decision in June of last year over Oliver McCall, whose fifth-round knockout of Lennox Lewis earned him the vacant WBC title in February of 1997.

Khan vs Peterson on December 10th on HBO
WASHINGTON DC - With two wins over Paul McCloskey and Zab Judah already in the books this year, Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Amir "King" Khan will look to end 2011 with a bang on Saturday, December 10, when he travels to Washington, DC for "Capital Showdown," a 12-round unified championship fight against mandatory International Boxing Federation (IBF) challenger and hometown hero Lamont "Havoc" Peterson at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which will be televised on HBO's World Championship Boxing in the United States. In a featured undercard attraction, undefeated heavyweight contender Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell of Brandywine, Maryland will return to the DC-area for the first time since April of 2010 to face an opponent to be determined.
"I'm looking forward to returning to the United States to face a worthy challenger like Lamont Peterson," said Khan. "I always said that I wanted to be active and a true World Champion and I will prove it again on December 10. I know Lamont is a strong contender but it doesn't matter that I'm fighting him in his backyard, I'm coming in as the champion and will leave as the champion."

Pressure is the Key to Beat Amir Khan
Number #1 ranked IBF light welterweight contender Lamont Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO’s) may not be a big puncher but it doesn’t take a big puncher to put IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan on weak legs.
All it takes is a a decent punch and Khan will be like Bambi on ice on December 10th at the Convention Center in Washington, DC. Khan and his handlers at Golden Boy Promotions have obliviously picked out Peterson thinking he’s got no power and isn’t a threat, but Peterson is going to prove them wrong by taking Khan out.

Lamont Peterson has a Hometown Advantage in DC Against Amir Khan
Amir Khan will defend his WBA and IBF junior welterweight titles against Lamont Peterson on December 10 on HBO, and if he's successful, it will be his final fight before a move to the welterweight division. Much of the pre-fight hype is in that direction: What's next for Amir Khan?
But Lamont Peterson is a legitimate contender, and no pushover. He'll also have home field advantage in Washington D.C., and hopes that will put him over the top.
